CHUY BRAVO Chuy Bravo is a little man who’s worn a lot of hats . . . literally.
Launched into the limelight three years ago as the personal assistant to TV hostess Chelsea Handler, Chuy's journey to Hollywood stardom was long—mainly because he has little nugget legs, so it takes him twice as long to get anywhere. Chuy is the first Latino talk show sidekick ever!
Chuy, the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, moved with his family to the U.S. from Mexico at the age of fifteen.
After graduating from Sylmar High he started his own business providing janitorial services to local businesses and also worked as an electro-mechanic assembling PC boards.
Bitten by the Hollywood bug, Chuy was determined to make it to Los Angeles and pursue his dream of big-screen stardom. He landed his first role in “Austin Powers 3: Goldmember” and can also be seen in “The Rundown,” starring The Rock, and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.”
He’s now, more appropriately, settled for the small screen as Chelsea Handler’s sidekick on E!’s number one rated show “Chelsea Lately.”
But Chuy Bravo is more than just a pretty face, in December 2009 he launched the “Little Nugget Foundation” to address the growing problem of drug and alcohol addiction. The foundation is committed to opening a rehabilitation center in Chuy’s hometown of Tangancicuaro, Michoacan Mexico in the near future.
On April 1st 2010, Chuy added another hat to his collection, that of published author. Chuy's first book, “Little Nuggets of Wisdom,” has shown how anyone can live and love the Chuy Bravo way, thanks to his bite sized advice covering family, finances, friendship, fashion, travel, food, fitness, and more. All great tips from a Little Nugget with a big heart.
